MoU signed between IBA and EDGE project
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed today between Bangladesh Institute of Business Administration (IBA) and Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) Enhancing Digital Government and Economy (EDGE) project for training IT company officials and mentoring startups in the development of the country's IT industry and startups.
According to the MoU, 500 top executives of IT organizations will be trained in IBA's 'CXO' and 2500 mid-level executives in Advanced Certification for Management Professionals (ACMP) course. Also, IBA will help 500 startup entrepreneurs through mentoring.
Senior Secretary of ICT Division NM Ziaul Alam and Managing Director of Startup Bangladesh Sami Ahmed signed the Memorandum of Understanding on behalf of their respective organizations, EDGE Project Director Dr. Muhammad Mehdi Hasan and Director of IBA Prof. Muhammad A. Momen. Among others, IBA Professor Sheikh Morshed Jahan, EDGE sub-project director Md. Saiful Alam Khan, Team Leader of Digital Leadership Academy Dr. Mahfuz Shamim.
NM Zeaul Alam said on the occasion that our current goal is to build a smart Bangladesh by 2041. EDGE project is a project that will not only help in the development of ICT industry but also help in realizing the dream of Smart Bangladesh.
Sami Ahmed, Managing Director of Startup Bangladesh, said that the government is working with the aim of developing the culture of startups in the country. Various initiatives are being implemented for this purpose. This is a unique initiative in building startup culture by mentoring 500 startups through IBA in collaboration with EDGE project.
Dr. Mehdi said that skills development through training of IT company officials is necessary for creating new entrepreneurs and developing the country's IT industry. Companies develop business skills, which largely contribute to the development of the ICT industry. In this regard, IBA's ACMP course will play a very important role, he said.
